Comic Con Joss Whedon and the Avengers Movie Cast

At Comic Con 2010, held in San Diego, Joss Whedon was revealed as the director of the movie the Avengers. The Avengers release date is somewhere in 2012, and filming will start this year. The hint that this movie will be coming up was first dropped in the 2 movies Iron Man and Iron Man 2. Although there was not an official preview for the Avengers at Comic Con 2010, fans were very excited to be introduced to the lead movie cast for the Avengers. Of course, leading the way is the geek god and director - Joss Whedon, confirmed as the director at Comic Con 2010. Joss Whedon created the Buffy the Vampire Series and Serenity, but geeks do not really need any reminder at all for this filming genius's great works.

The Avengers Movie Cast was introduced by none other than Samuel L Jackson - otherwise known as Nick Fury. Nick Fury is a super-spy (probably on the same par as Chuck - the spy Intersect) and diplomat expert. At comic con, the fans cheer wildly as SLJ introduces his right hand woman - the Black Widow aka Scarlet Johansson aka Natasha Romanoff, given more than a sneak preview in Iron Man 2. The Black Widow is another super-spy with fantastic espionage skills and an array of martial arts skills. Thor and Captain America followed, but only got rather lukewarm applause from fans at Comic Con. The applause turned to wild cheering again for Tony Starks aka Iron Man aka Robert Downey, who naturally had to take over the stage from Nick Fury. The loudest applause at Comic Con went to the man in charge of directing the movie - Joss whedon!
