GI Joe 2 Cast and Premier Date

GI Joe 2 release date looks to have been set. GI Joe 2 is expected to premier in cinemas on the date August 10 2012. In 2009, GI Joe was one of the best sci fi fantasy movies to hit the big screen, if not the best movie to hit the cinema in that time period. If you were to look at the DVD rental stores near you, the GI Joe DVD movie disc always appears at the recent release section, even though it was released in 2009. A sign of an extremely good movie. Therefore, we wait eagerly for the sequel, for the sequel to outdo the first one would be a monumental task indeed.

Already it has been suggested that the GI Joe 2 cast will be trimmed compared to the GI Joe Cast. Let's take a moment to reflect on the events of GI Joe and who fans would like to return and the reality of the situation in GI Joe 2.

In GI Joe, the stunning Baroness makes her appearance in dramatic fashion, and captivates all GI Joe fanboys, no doubt. The Baroness was a good soul, but through the use of evil nanotechnology, Cobra was able to brain wash the Baroness and command her as he liked. This was a concept quite true to the original GI Joe cartoon series in the 1980s. Unfortunately, it looks like this stunning "bad girl" in her fashionable combat outfit will not be making a return to GI Joe 2.

In GI Joe, the good men - the Joes, comprise of Duke, Heavy Duty, Beaker, Ripcord and General Hawk. These men do not appear to be returning to the GI Joe movie in their heavy accelerator suits. Apart from Duke, and Snake Eyes, the rest of the good guys are not coming back.

In GI Joe, on the feminine side of good, there was the fantastic Rachel Nichols (Alias, Star Trek, Conan the Barbarian movie) starring as the lovely Scarlett. The sight of Scarlett in her accelerator suit was very impressive indeed. Unfortunately, it appears that GI Joe is the only time she will appear in the accelerator suit.

The bad guys in GI Joe were really nasty, being the mastermind Destro, and the Doctor. For those who still havent watch GI Joe, let's leave it at that. These bad guys will not be returning to GI Joe 2. However, somehow, a miracle has allowed Storm Shadow to return to GI Joe 2.

What GI Joe was fantastic at was recreating the action in the minds of the 1980s children, when they were playing with those toy action figures of Cobra, Duke, the Baroness, etc. It was chaotic, it was fun, it was heavy artillery versus ultimate machines, it was secret underwater lairs vs super hovering aircraft headquarters, it was GI Joe. Just how GI Joe 2 can overcome this ultimate childhood fantasy come true in GI Joe - only time will tell.
