Legend of the Seeker Costumes

 The legend of the seeker series is a fantastic television series for the medieval fantasy genre, for which there has been a severe lack of since the days of Xena the Warrior Princess, and Hercules and other such series. It is based on the sword of truth series written by Terry Goodking. It is also a wonderful inspiration for costumes for halloween. If there was a rpg game based on the legend of the seeker series, then we can categorize the costumes based on the classes available in the legend of the seeker world.

 The confessor usually wears white to symbolize truth. She can use magic to subdue a foe and enslave him or her and make them confess the truth. Hence their costume is one of beauty and truth. A halloween party full of confessors? That will be something to behold.

The medieval woman clothes worn by Kahlan's sister when she was brought back from the Underworld is a reflection of more creativity in the legend of the seeker costumes series. This is a green silky like costume, yet effective in combat, allowing the confessor to slide in and attack her foe. Kahlan's sister resurrected is played by Gina Holden, the lead female actress protraying Dale Arden in the short Flash Gordon television series.

Imagine a halloween party full of Confessors. And then imagine a halloween party full of mord siths. And that is why the costumes in legend of the seeker is so inspirational. Certainly a candidate for Best Costumes in a television series award in any movie and television award around the world.

The 2 best known mord siths in the legend of the seeker series is Richard Rahl's protector Cara, and the one almost trying to tempt RIchard Cypher to the dark side - Denna. Traditionally as Lord Rahl's protector, the mord sith will wear red (leather) into battle. They are the ultimate anti magic users, absorbing magic and channeling their energy into damage against the enemy. Their power comes from their mystical connection with the bloodline of Lord Rahl; hence they are sworn to serve the Lord Rahl throne.

When the mord sith has finished training someone successfully into a tool for use in their war in the Midlands, they will wear white (leather), rather than red. The white here is a symbol of power, success and dominance, in contrast to the confessor white of truth. After training Richard Cypher into becoming the new Lord Rahl, the ultimate mord sith Denna dons a white mord sith costume.

This year, for halloween and other fancy dress parties, shopping has become more interesting and complex with so many ideas. Dress up as a confessor? Dress up as a mord sith? Dress up as a vampire? Dress up as Richard Cypher? Dress up as Sister Nicci - a sister of the dark? Dress up as a werewolf? Or simply dress up as a great wizard - this is the simplest, because it seems all great wizards dress up in rags weaved together to form a gown of some kind. Possibly they skip the fashion magic class in school. It's a good thing the designers for the legend of the seeker costumes did not skip their fashion classes. And the result is a range of costumes that will, no doubt, hit this year's halloween parties with a force to be reckoned with.

For fans of the legend of the seeker series, the series just keeps getting better. The whole 2nd season will come out on DVD later this year near the end of September 2010, just before Halloween!
