Actresses and Roles in Science Fiction Medieval Fantasy Movies and TV Series

Actresses who have graced the small and big screen for classic comic science fiction and medieval fantasy genre have become immortalised in the hearts of fans of this genre.

Leading the list will have to be Laura Vandervoot starring as non other than Supergirl or Kara Zo'El in Smallville season 7, and making a cameo appearance in Smallville season 8. It would be great to have a modern Supergirl movie. Laura Vandervoot is now starring as Lisa, a visitor in the television series V. She also starred in Into the Blue 2: the Reef, a thriller about finding the treasures of the forgotten seas.

There have been celebrities in other excellent medieval fantasy movies that are splendid and known only to fans of the medieval fantasy genre. Take Knights of Bloodsteel -- starring Natassia Malthe, who is protrayed very well as an elf in the movie. Love her character and her look in the movie. Though not a top-budget movie, this is a well written, well acted and totally watchable movie for a Friday night on the couch with the standard popcorn, coke and icecream.

 Who will star as wonder woman in the modern 21st century film? This is a good question to answer. So far, no answer in this column. Although, with Mother's Day approaching, there is no doubt who is the Wonder Woman in the house. Mum. Maybe getting cappuccino latte makers of some sort would be great for Mother.

 There is no on-screen wonder woman yet, but there has been at least 1 modern bionic woman -- Michelle Ryan. It is too bad this superb series was only reduced to 1 season.

 Another hot actress not yet forgotten by fans is the great Kristanna Loken. Who can forget her as the mighty flexible terminatrix in Terminator 3, or the beautiful vampire in the movie BloodRayne? Other less well known movies that she acted in include Ring of the Nibelungs, Dark Kingdom -- the Dragon King, and in 2008 her tv series Painkiller Jane. Of course her fans will always have a copy of one of her very first tv series -- Mortal Kombat!
